The Sabinal area is well known for trophy boar hogs and has more
wild hogs than any other part of Texas. That's no brag.
That's a fact! Archers/Bowhunters hunt year round. Home of
the annual Wild Hog Festival sponsored by the Lions Club. Most
avid bowhunters know where to find the wild hogs. The wild hogs
are smart, have great sense of smell, and are very aggressive.
You can't out run the tuskers. You don't want to be on
even ground with them. They have been know to ram your truck
tires with 4 inch tusks. In the fall, you may see the wild hogs
along Highway 187 North of Sabinal gathering under live oak trees
for the acorns. Sabinal is 60 miles west of San Antonio,
TX.
