Chamber sponsors Battle to Save Trees!
The Sabinal Area was plagued with webworms for several years. The Chamber with the help from the City of Sabinal and donations from the public, started an environmentally friendly program to rid our vegetation of these pests. A small wasp called "Trichogramma" will rid the area of the harmful insects instead of using costly insecticides. We received several shipments and placed them needed areas. The program was a great success!
The City started mosquito spraying June 2010. This action stops the Trichogramma program. If you find webworms again, please call the Sabinal Chamber at 830-988-2010.
